Here at KFH we pride ourselves on finding each buyer their perfect equine best friend. Before heading over from Ireland each horse has to pass a 5 stage vetting and then is vaccinated. I usually give them a week in the field to recover and put on a bit of weight before they start their work. All horses are worked on the long reins in the pen first, some only need one session, others benefit from a couple more to put them on the right track.

People often ask me for a price and full details when they first arrive and I tell them that I cannot give them an answer until the horses are fully assessed! All my horses will have been checked/treated by my McTimony chiropractor, an equine physiotherapist, dentist and their vaccinations will be up date prior to being offered for sale. I like to have horses here at least a month so that they have time to settle, their personalities come out and I have put them through their paces fully. I need to know that horses hack alone and in company, school to a reasonable level, jump coloured and natural fences safely (the facilities here at Rabson Manor are perfect for that) and are happy loading, travelling and behaving well at a different location. If the timings are right and the horses are at that level, I may take them to a small dressage/SJ competition. Once all that has been done then the horses will be ready to meet their adoring public!

A lot of people will have been following the progress reports on here and on Facebook and so sometimes they are sold before I need to advertise them. I will always disclose any quirks/foibles that any of the horses have- there is no such thing as the perfect horse but what is disconcerting for one rider will be joyful and fun for another!
